Greetings! This post is going to be a little random. I’m just going to talk about what I’ve been reading and watching lately. And fangirl, obviously.

The War that Saved My Life
This book was so good! It was a very different kind of historical fiction “war” story. While many stories focus on how character’s lives are ripped apart by war (which is understandable), this story took a different turn. Our main character Ada’s life is completely changed because of the war… but for the better.
hence the title the war that saved my life.
Ada has such a wonderful character arc. Her struggles are so real, and I could really feel what she was feeling. Her fears and insecurities were so realistic. I really loved watching her grow over the course of novel. I flew through this book and can’t wait to read the sequel!
The Mysterious Benedict Society
I have heard a lot about this book. I think the first time it was recommended to me was three years ago. 0_0 I FINALLY got around to reading it, and I was not disappointed! In fact it exceeded my expectations. The characters are all fleshed out and unique, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. They work together as a team, even if some are harder to get along with. Mr. Benedict was very interesting as well.
The plotline of this book was clever and engaging. I was never bored whilst reading. The tests, the mission… it was very suspenseful. And Mr. Curtain gave me the creeps. *shudders* If you’re looking for a unique, engaging story with lovable characters, pick this one up. I’m also reading the sequel right now, which is amazing. I plan on finishing it tonight (when I’m writing this. By the time this is posted I’ll probably be done).
The Screaming Staircase (Lockwood & Co. Book 1)
I’ve ranted about this enough already, so I’ll keep this short. This is my second favorite series, and I finally reread the first two books! I had such a fun time rereading and was grinning and sipping tea the entire way through. Plus I got to buddy-read this with Carlye, which was fun. 😀 I’ll be picking up book three soon, and I’m so excited for it. If you haven’t read this, WHAT ARE YOU DOING GO READ IT NOW.
Your Lie In April (English-dubbed anime)
I’m really in no condition to talk about this right now. I’m too emotionally shattered. But in summary: I loved this so so much and yes it broke my heart. I cried so much at the end because whyyy. T_T I watched it all over the course of a few days and was so connected to the characters. Just thinking about it brings tears to my eyes. I recommend you watch this if you can handle how emotional it is. Be prepared to be depressed for a while afterward. And have lots of tissues nearby.

That’s all for now! I FINALLY finished one of the schools I was doing. This last month has been very stressful and tiring, and I’m so glad I can relax now. I’m still doing another class at a different online school, but it just involves reading, which is my specialty. And it will be a lot more enjoyable when it’s the only thing I’m doing. I want to finish it by the end of the month, but we’ll see how that goes. So even though I’m still doing that, I think I’ll consider this the start of summer.
Expect a summer bucket list coming soon! I’m excited for more posts this summer, and I hope you are too. 😉
Have a beautiful day!
